people healthy and out of trouble, but two new studies, one
by the NCAA and the other by the Harvard University School
of Public Health conclude that not only do college athletes
drink, often to excess, but they also drink more than non-athletes
The NCAA study
confirmed that drinking is standard behavior among college
athletes. It sound that more than 80% of athletes drink.
The Harvard study
looked at alcohol use among college students nationwide including
athletes. The investigators found that both male and female
athletes were more likely than other students to binge drink,
and they more often said getting drunk was an "important
